COMPETITION TEAM
Benefits of Competitive Dance
Competition dance accelerates technical development and performance quality by exposing dancers to longer rehearsal schedules, diverse choreography, and high-stakes performance environments. Participation builds stage presence, projection, and musicality while fostering resilience, discipline, and leadership—skills that transfer beyond the studio into everyday life.
Team membership also creates strong bonds through shared goals and collaborative effort; while competitive success and awards are celebrated, the primary award is personal and artistic growth.
Our Team
Our Competition Team is our most dedicated group of dancers. They train hard, perform more, and push technical and artistic limits. This program is built for dancers who want advanced training, real performance experience, and the chance to represent Diva on regional and national stages. The core of our program is growth: stronger technique, bigger presence, and lasting confidence.
Placement is by invitation or audition, based on overall ability, work ethic, and artistry. Team members uphold high standards for dedication, teamwork, and professionalism—onstage and off.
From conventions to national finals, our dancers rise to every challenge with focus and confidence.
Training & Opportunities
Our program delivers a structured blend of technique classes, focused rehearsals, and targeted conditioning designed to elevate strength, flexibility, and technical precision. Dancers benefit from in-house master classes and workshops with guest instructors, and access to conventions for supplemental instruction and feedback. These opportunities, combined with performance experience at regional and national events, provide comprehensive development—preparing dancers for higher-level training and performing.
Introduction to Competition
Our Introduction to Competition class is designed to prepare dancers for the rigorous training of our competition team. Dancers develop essential skills such as picking up choreography quickly, improving strength and flexibility through conditioning and stretching, and gaining stage experience with extra performance opportunities. It offers the excitement and growth of being in a company, but with a more accessible commitment—perfect for first-time competitive dancers!
